New Attitude

Even though the day had it's disappointments, I'm pretty excited about how I handled everything.  I feel really in control of things right now, and that's a neat feeling.

So as I rode my bike for another 30 min interval, I came across a song that eloquently expressed my mood.  "New Attitude" by Patti LaBelle.  "I'm feeling good from my head to my shoes, know where I'm going and I know what to do, I've tidied up my point of view, I have a new attitude".  God those are lyrics to belt out at the top of your lungs.  There's no real way to be depressed as you say them.

And it's really hard not to be motivated when you hear them too.  I'm a big believer in positive thinking.  I think the only real difference between someone who succeeds and someone who doesn't is one always believed they could.  I think that's crucial.  You need to have confidence in what you can do or have done, so that when the low points come you won't be as tempted to quit.

I say this with the utmost confidence now.  Tomorrow (well, today technically) is weigh in day.  We'll see how the momentum carries as I find out what my less than ideal week meant for pounds lost or {gulp}gained.

I guess I'll have to put Patti in my CD player and listen to that as I hop on the scale.

:)

Regardless of how you do today...commend yourself on your accomplishment. What I've seen in what I've read hear is real commitment. Commend yourself on being able to give that gift to yourself. This journey has good weeks, and not so good weeks. But as long as you keep your attitude your will be on the right path. Praise yourself for what you've accomplished.

I love that song "New Attitude". It gives you so much incourgement and postive, happy feelings. I also find writting a journal to be the key to sucess. It really helps if you can plan and account for all the food and even water, exercise and daily moods we all go through every day.

Dear Duckebride323,

I was very happy to read about your weight loss. We all fight the same battle, and knowing that helps somehow, doesn't it? I am proud of you for sticking with it, and even on the tough days when you are hurting or sick, that you still know that you are doing the very best you can on THAT DAY!

Stick with it. . . I'd love to correspond if you have the time. . . you sound like a very busy girl!

Keep the faith,
Sheila

Wow! Like the others had not thought about "New Attitudes"..... mine is "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". I can dance around to that song. In fact, both together should be our mantra. Wonderful to read true feelings. Have app. 50 lbs to lose, but is difficult to get motivated with my lifestyle. Will keep this on 'favorites' list and keep up with your success. More power to you!!!

Hello sister-under-the-skin!

I'm on the same journey (a little less far along, but getting there) and I confess I like your style. My journey is also about as long as yours.

I think being introverted may have helped get us there, but it's also the strength that will get us out. I read somewhere that thought is the soul's conversation with itself. A journal is writing down that conversation.

I appreciate your sharing the conversation.

I have never emailed a perfect stranger before but I too am on a quest to lose weight. Mostly because of my health and my doc's insistence. So hang in there you are an inspiration to me. I have lost 21 lbs from 8-03 and I hope to lose at least 100 total. God bless!
