Monthly Photo Update

I hate the first of the month update these days.  That plateau has held on for dear life.  Ten pounds and 17 inches is nothing to sneeze at, but I'd sure rather have that on a monthly basis rather than a seasonal one.

Which is why I'm giving this Lindora plan a try.  It promises 6lbs a week, but I'd be happy with just any pounds a week.  The lady in the article lost 65lbs in 10 weeks, and 308lbs over all.

It requires a balancing act between proteins and carbs.  I'm not a fan of low carb diets as you probably know.  I've had two people close to me have their health adversely affected by a high protein, low carbohydrate diet.  The thing I like about this Lindora plan is that it realistically drops the carbs then raises them again.

Here's the "skinny".

This program lasts in 6 week intervals.  In the first week you have three days that are protein only.  What this is supposed to do is activate ketosis, the biochemical state in which your body burns your stored fat for fuel.  Alternating these three protein only days with the higher carb days (adding in 50-100 grams of carbs) is supposed to keep the body in ketosis and prevent carb withdrawal and a slowed metabolism.

The second - fourth week you only have one protein only day.  All days that aren't all protein adhere to this basic eating formula:

Breakfast
2 proteins
1 fruit or grain
calorie free drink

Lunch
1 protein
1 veggie (plus 2 cups of lettuce)
1 fruit
calorie free drink

Dinner
1 protein
1 veggie (plus 2 cups of lettuce)
1 fruit
calorie free drink

Snacks
3 one serving protein snacks

In weeks 5 and 6 you "reset" your metabolism to your skinnier self by eating one protein only day per week and increasing the portion sizes of carbohydrates, following this eating plan:

Breakfast
2 proteins
1 1/2 fruit or grain
1 drink

Lunch
2 proteins
1 vegetable (plus unlimited lettuce)
1 fruit
1 grain
1 drink

Dinner
2 proteins
1 vegetable (plus unlimited lettuce)
1 fruit
1 grain
1 drink

Snacks
3 single serving protein snacks

Repeat this cycle until goal weight is met.

And the article I got this from is here: article_first_1

If this works I intend to buy the $50 package for more information.  I figure if it works for the entire six weeks like they say it does, it's worth the investment.

We'll know in a week.  I hope to start by Sunday but no later than Monday.  Steven's company is having a picnic tomorrow and the kids get to go to Gattis to celebrate their report cards (Gattis gives tokens for good grades).  We may or may not do that tomorrow night, what I want to do is implement a family game night so instead of Steven and I sitting on our computers and the kids off in their rooms we're actually interacting.  So if Gattis is put off till Sunday after church, so be it.

I'm not afraid of Gattis, they have a really decent salad bar on their buffet.  I'm going to fall back on my basic buffet strategy - load up on salad stuff before touching any bad food so that I won't overeat it.

Hi Gin!
I'm confused about how long you plan to stay on the program.  Is it one week and if you lose 6 pounds you will buy the program ... or stay on it 6 weeks, then buy the program.
Anyway, your photos show more results!  Even if it's slow, it's progress!  Yeh for Ginger!!!!!
Love,
Jeannie
