Day One: No Carb. Is it Day Two Yet???

I was pleasantly surprised to find that my super protein breakfast of egg beaters, turkey sausage and cheese kept me satisfied most of the morning.  By the time lunch rolled around I made a really tasty salad with chicken strips and more cheese, which was very nummy - even though I felt a teensy weensy bit deprived I couldn't have crackers to go with it.

My afternoon snack consisted of yet more cheese and some turkey slices and now I'm rumbling for dinner.  It's now it hits me...

I WANT CARBS.

I'll probably settle for a dinner of fish and broccoli, but I really REALLY want carbs.  For the first part of the day I thought it was a mental thing - you know me and deprivation.  Now it's a ravenous craving.  So rather than give into it, I thought I'd come here and bitch and complain about it.  Lucky y'all.  :)

According to my FitDay my proteins and fat are running about half each and to see my fat intake for the day be 49% even though most of my proteins have been lean is killing me.  They say that this isn't what makes you fat, but I hate seeing it creep over 30% anyway.  That's been my goal for so long, it's hard to flip that mental switch.

My sweet tooth is killing me.  It's so bad I'm already planning what I'm going to eat tomorrow, just because I can.  I'm so glad this is a few days a week, then a day a week afterwards.  This diet would drive me absolutely batty long term.

Some good news on the writing front.  I entered a contest last month called "Pitch Slam", where writers get to enter their best pitches for their comedy scripts.  I submitted three and just got word today that one made it to the finals.  So yayyyyy, I'm very completely psyched about this.  Getting to the finals means I get to list the script on a website called Inktip.com, where producers and development execs, agents and managers get to peruse new material - I've used it several times before, once with the script in question.   If my pitch is picked as the winner then I get a free entry into their comedy screenwriting contest.

See my name in lights:  Pitch Slam

So anyway, keep those good thoughts coming for Comic Squad, that's the pitch that made it to the finals.  I'm still tweaking it as we speak, and I cannot wait now to hear the final results.  This is the farthest I've come on any screenwriting related contest so far.

I'm still waiting to hear on Situation: Comedy.  I've chewed my nails down to the first knuckle.  It's a good thing fingernails are carb free.  :)
