Tonight was my first night back doing Pilates and again I did it all the way through, no cheating. It was more impressive tonight than Monday, considering every muscle waged a very loud protest against this "Shock and Awe" exercise assault I've launched against my stubborn weight. It wants to stay lounging around the same ten or so pounds for five months? It doesn't have a clue who it's messing with.
I credit the multi vitamin for a lot of the energy I've had to even attempt these new changes. Otherwise I simply would have wimped out at the starting gate. It feels really good to have this energy without the bad side effects of ephedra, which used to make my heart race and give me a serious case of the jitters. Now I just have more than adequate energy.
Steven, who is also taking a multi he bought at GNC as well, notes a big difference in how he feels too.
It's even affected my mood. I feel a lot less frustrated than I did before. Fatigue drives me nuts, I do not like sitting and doing nothing. I don't like looking at a dirty house and not having the stamina to clean it. Last week I barely even cooked dinner.
On Monday and Tuesday we went for our walks by going to the mall and to a couple of new stores. Tomorrow we're going to do the Art Walk our community art center holds every second Thursday of the month. That's a lot of walking, there's a gallery, museums, libraries and stores all involved in Art Walk covering several city blocks. I think I clocked in 8000 steps once, and that was just going back and forth between one gallery and our big three story museum.
Energy. Don't leave home without it.
I'm going to start something new. I wanted to put music into the journal so I could let you all sample the music I like or use to inspire me, but that's going to be a hassle I'm not really inclined to take upon myself at the moment. So instead I'm going to link some of my favorite AOL Radio stations that, if you're so inclined, you can listen to as you read along.
Tonight's channel is Disco. I love disco music. It's happy music that makes you want to move. Back when I lived in California, my sister and I used to go to a Mexican bar and Cantina called Chuys in Glendale (shameless plug o' the day) every Friday night. They had a juke box and every Friday without fail mysister and I would feed in $5 and play music. Our music of choice: Disco. Without fail when that first disco song started to play (The Hustle), everyone would groan and roll their eyes. A few songs later, though, it was quite a different story. Everyone was talking louder, laughing more and even dancing in their seats.
I've decided that you just cannot stay unhappy while listening to disco. It's impossible.
So needless to say I have several disco songs that I like to work out to.
Ginger's Disco Picks:
Don't Leave Me This Way - Thelma Houston
Shake Your Groove Thing - Peaches & Herb
Born to Be Alive - Patrick Hernandez
You Should Be Dancing - Bee Gees
Shake Shake Shake - KC & The Sunshine Band
Get Down Tonight - KC & The Sunshine Band
I Was Made for Dancin - Leif Garrett
and of course
YMCA - The Village People
Throw these on and I promise your body will move even if your ears bleed.

Hi Gin,
Well, you go girl! Sounds as if you have your "Groove" back!
LOL! Gin, you need to come to Mario's some night. Danny plays "She Works Hard For The Money", "Maniac", "YMCA", "Get Down Tonight" and several more. My song of course is, "She works hard for the money". A lot of the "gals" get up and dance together. Danny always tells the guys, "Hey! What's wrong with a dancefloor full of dancing women"??? Hehehe. Ya know, I DO sweat, have fun, and sleep reeeealy well that night! Of course, at my age, the muscles in my body do protest the next morning! Next time your in East Texas you'll know where to find us! Danny has a CD coming out in about 3 weeks. I got to name it. :) I'll send you one when we get them in. :)
Love,
Jeannie
All of that energy ain't coming from a vitamin pill, :), it is the exercise. I hear the air dyne bike calling me. I am still "riding" with you. :).
I think you might have a point about the disco music.Reading the song titles made me smile. I feel the same way about Motown. I am going to get a little disco.
I take a green tea supplement for energy. I could just drink it I guess, but I really don't like the stuff. I don't liek ephedra either. It is now illegal in my state, and I can't say that I am dissapointed!
